From the Bridgeport area - take the Merritt Parkway north to Exit 52 for Route 8 north, or take I-95 to Exit 27A and follow to the split, bearing right at the split to Route 8 north. Follow Route 8 north to Exit 16 Pershing Drive. Go straight and at the second traffic light go right onto Division Street. Go two more lights and make a left onto Main Street. Go two more lights and make a left onto Chestnut Street. We are at the end of the street on the left.

From the Waterbury area - take Route 8 south to Exit 15. Go right at the end of the ramp onto Route 34. Get into the extreme left hand lane, go over the bridge, and make a left at the traffic light. Follow this road until your third traffic light and make a left onto Chestnut Street. We are at the end of the street on the left.

From the New Haven area - take Route 34 west towards Derby. Follow Route 34 until just before it makes a 90 degree left hand turn. DO NOT go left. (If you make the left hand turn, you will find yourself going under Route 8. At this point either get on Route 8 north, before you go under it, and follow the Bridgeport directions or turn around, go back over the bridge and make a left) Get into the right hand lane and go straight through the traffic light. After you go through this light, go to your third traffic light and make a left onto Chestnut Street. We are at the end of the street on the left.

From the Hartford area - follow the Merritt Parkway south and get off the exit for Route 34 Ansonia-Derby. Follow the New Haven directions above.

A Brief History of Valley Electric Supply Co

Valley Electric Supply Co was started in 1963 on Main Street in Ansonia. It moved shortly thereafter to the 91 West Main St location in Ansonia, just a few blocks away from its original location. Valley Electric was at this time part of R & S Electric Supply Co located in Bridgeport, CT. In the mid to late 1980's, Valley Electric began to expand its lighting offering. In April of 1992, Valley Electric Supply Co was spun off from R & S Electric and became a separate Company. In the summer of 1992, the showroom was expanded and remodeled. In 1996, the showroom was again expanded and remodeled with the supply store moving to an adjacent building while the showroom took over the entire 91 West Main St property. In 1999, the showroom moved from the West Main Street building to its current location at 3 Chestnut Street in Ansonia, just a few blocks from the supply store. The supply store in turn moved back into the 91 West Main Street store and expanded and remodeled it. At this time, the 3 Chestnut Street location became known as Valley Lighting & Home Decor. It is currently one of the largest and most comprehensive lighting and home decor showplaces in the state of Connecticut. The supply store at the same time tripled their customer display showroom and also expanded their warehouse space.
